Lawrence Samuels, Chair

Lawrence Samuels is editor and contributing author of Facets of Liberty: A Libertarian Primer his magnum opus book, In Defense of Chaos: the Chaology of Politics, Economics and Human Action, which can be found at his website: www.lksamuels.com. He was elected Chairman of the Project Area Committee (PAC), a citizens committee to advise the Seaside Redevelopment Agency and the city of Seaside over eminent domain issues. He is co-chair of Libertarians for Peace of Monterey County and vice chair of Seaside Taxpayers Association. He was the Northern California Vice Chair of the California Libertarian Party for four years. He is the winner of the 2007 Karl Bray Memorial Award. He managed the Future of Freedom Conference series for five years in Southern California during the mid 1980s. He helped found Rampart Institute with Robert LeFevre in 1980 and eventually became its president. An occasional writer for lewrockwell.com, he is the Chairman of FED-UP (www.fedupfreedom.org), a local anti-drug war organization. He is secretary of the G16 Coalition, an organization to prevent Carmel Valley from turning into a city, and vice president of the Brookdale Homeowners Association. Contact: laws.

Brandon Kelsey, Vice Chair

Brandon Kelsey is a young and motivated Libertarian activist. He was born and raised in Monterey County and graduated from Carmel High School in 2010, subsequently gaining military and business experience. Referring to himself as an "Anti-Federalist Libertarian," Brandon has been inspired by the ideas of Thomas Jefferson and the economic teachings of Ludwig von Mises and Friedrich Hayek. He plans to run for political office in the city of Marina.
