Director of North County Fire Protection District

The North County Fire Protection board consists of 5 members elected at large. They serve 4 year staggered terms, which begin in December. The Fire District provides a full range of emergency services to the community. Calls to 911 from this area are first answered by the County’s Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) operated by the San Diego Sheriff and located in Kearny Mesa. If the request is for fire or emergency medical, the call is transferred to Northcomm – the regional fire and EMS dispatch center located in Rancho Santa Fe. Northcomm then dispatches the closest available units.
Candidates for office in special districts must be a registered voter and resident of the district. (Elections Code Sec. 201) and May have special requirements established by the principal act of the district. (Elections Code Sec. 10514) Candidate must be a resident elector of the district. (Health & Safety Code Sec.13841)
